Lake of the Pines Community Information
Comprised of nearly 2,000 homes, Lake of the Pines is about an hour northeast of Sacramento, 20 minutes from Auburn and about an hour or so from Tahoe. Three hours from San Francisco. There’s a 232 acre main lake offering swimming, fishing (bass, catfish and more) water-skiing, wake boarding, kayaking/canoeing, paddle boarding and sailing – there’s even a sailing school every summer open to children and adults. A couple hundred homes have direct waterfront access, while more enjoy lake and pond access (four acre Hazel Lake and three acre Huck Finn Pond near the dog park). Many homes have golf or lake views or back up to the LOP golf course. There are seven parks, five with beaches, plus a main beach, a boat launch ramp and a marina with 148 boat slips.
Lake of the Pines has something for everyone, and if you have an interest not being addressed, start your own club! Some of the clubs right now include Gardening, Bocce Ball, card clubs, golf clubs, water sports, tennis, bowling, swim and my favorite – Cocktails and Coloring! There are even groups for line dancing and aerobics! The LOP swimming pool is open to residents from Spring Break until the weekend before Thanksgiving. The Pro Shop features top brands such as Callaway, Titleist, Taylor Made and more. During the summer you don’t have to go far for fresh baked items, organic veggies, tamales and other items thanks to the weekly Farmer’s Market. There’s also the Sports Bar and Magnolia Grille offering calzones, pizza, fine dining and beautiful lake views from both inside and out. There are weekly, monthly and annual events including the ever so fun and popular Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks Show and the seasonal Music on the Lake featuring live bands from around the region.
Just across the street from the entrance to Lake of the Pines are three excellent public schools from Elementary to High School, a top-rated K-12 private school is just around the corner. In addition to nearby professional and medical offices you’ll also have the convenience of Holiday Market, CVS, ACE Hardware, Starbucks, small boutiques and several excellent little restaurants. More golf is minutes away, including Dark Horse, The Ridge and Auburn Valley Country Club, several LOP homes overlook Dark Horse golf course. Placer and Nevada county are also known as home to many art galleries, music festivals, breweries and award winning wineries.
As a former news junkie, something I really enjoy is Lake of the Pines Channel 7, a cable TV station generally managed by LOP member volunteers. There’s also the weekly Pines Times and the monthly LOP News – there’s also a members only group on Facebook!
Live Your Dream!
Abraham Lincoln once said, “the best way to predict your future is to create it.” Whether you presently live just outside the gates of LOP, a few hours or thousands of miles away, I’d love to help you create that future you’re dreaming of. Your home is out there, let’s go find it!!
